After ‘Runway 34’, Ajay Devgn Goes Behind the Camera for ‘Bholaa’

Indian actor and filmmaker Ajay Devgn is still riding high after his critically acclaimed performances in his last three films namely ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘RRR’, and ‘Runway 34’. You might already be aware that Ajay Devgn himself went behind the camera to direct ‘Runway 34’ co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and the film had received positive feedback from a large segment of audiences, especially after its OTT release on Amazon Prime Video.

And now, the ‘Drishyam’ actor is yet again donning the director’s cap for the fourth time for the Hindi remake of the Tamil language hit action thriller film ‘Kaithi’ in which he is also playing the lead role. The remake titled ‘Bholaa’ was announced earlier this year and also features acclaimed actress Tabu. The Hindi remake rights for the film were acquired back in 2020. Previously, Ajay Devgn had also helmed the romantic drama ‘U Me Aur Hum’ co-starring Kajol and the 2016 action flick ‘Shivaay’.

Ajay Devgn’s latest directorial ‘Bholaa’ is currently moving at a brisk pace and the principal photography for the film is expected to be concluded by 20th August.

The 2019 parent film ‘Kaithi’ was helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and featured Karthi as a recently released former convict who reluctantly agrees to help the police department in order to meet his daughter for the first time. He takes up the mission to transport dying cops to a hospital while escaping from a gang of smugglers.

‘Bholaa’ is slated for a theatrical release on 30th March 2023. Besides ‘Bholaa’, Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film projects include the biographical sports movie ‘Maidaan’, Indra Kumar’s comedy film ‘Thank God’, and the highly anticipated sequel ‘Drishyam 2’, amongst others.
