There are many merger updates in the market. Initially Voot Select and JioCinema merged. Then came the case of Sony and Zee which did not materialise. Then came the case of Disney and Reliance Entertainment and also the newly announced case of Aha and Sony Pictures. What’s the update?
Well, Sony and Zee could not merge. So, there is more merger news definitely coming in the way. Now, there are rumours that Aha is up for sale, with Culver Max Entertainment (Sony Pictures Networks India) and Sun TV reportedly interested in buying it.
Sony Pictures denied the rumours, stating they were not true. So, this merger news is over even before it could materialise. Sun TV’s involvement remains uncertain. The deal is speculated to be worth between Rs 1,500 crore and Rs 2,000 crore, but there’s been no official confirmation.
