Aha Video has never been as aggressive as they currently are, when it comes to acquiring and producing Telugu films and series. Of late, Aha had bagged the OTT streaming rights of several mainstream Telugu films. There are two new additions to Aha’s Telugu library and they are – DJ Tillu and Sehari. The post theatrical rights of both these recent theatrical releases were acquired by Aha Video.
DJ Tillu, featuring Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Neha Shetty opened to mixed reviews but the film is delivering big-time where it matters the most – box office returns. The film opened on a strong note in the Telugu states and the USA alone. In fact, it breached the break-even mark in several territories on its opening day itself. The film is expected to reap decent profits for everyone involved. The comedy caper is likely to carry the momentum till its OTT premieres as we often see proper comedy entertainers fairing well on OTT.
On the other hand, Sehari, a comedy drama featuring Harsh Kanumilli and Simran Choudhary in the lead roles also hit the silver screens last week. The film released on 11th January, alongside Ravi Teja’s Khiladi, and not many people even know that the film arrived in theatres. The comedy drama did manage to create some noise with its intriguing teaser a long while ago. But the buzz fizzed due to the delay in release, and for some odd reason, the makers did not promote the film aggressively prior to release. Consequently, it released amidst very little buzz and anticipation. It is now being termed a disaster in terms of box office revenures. Sehari’s OTT rights were also bagged by Aha Video.
