Ahead Of ‘Jersey’, Shahid Kapoor Says Actor Nani Made Him Cry!

One of Bollywood’s most charming actors, Shahid Kapoor is gearing up for his film ‘Jersey‘, all set to hit theaters on the 31st of December. The sports drama is a Hindi remake of the Telugu film by the same name, starring Tollywood star Nani. Shahid is known to often engage in impromptu question & answer sessions with fans on social media and today is one such day! In a fun question-answer session with netizens, on being asked about Nani, Kapoor said, “I think he did an amazing job in ‘Jersey’. He made me cry. So I would say he inspired me to do this film.” He also mentioned that his ‘Jersey’ director, Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original, is his favourite director so far.

‘Jersey’ is a film about a cricketer who finds fame late in life, also starring father Pankaj Kapur and actress Mrunal Thakur (of ‘Super 30’ fame). On co-star Mrunal Thakur, Shahid said, “Yes she is is lovely. We had a great time. She is extremely talented. And loads of fun”. When quizzed about the film, the ‘Kabir Singh’ actor said, “It’s my best film making experience yet. Cant wait to share it with you all”. Incidentally, he also picked his film ‘Kabir Singh’ over ‘Jab We Met’, when asked by a fan to choose between his two films.

When asked about actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s performance in ‘The Family Man 2’, he revealed that he loved her performance on the show and would love to work with the actress sometime. Apart from ‘Jersey’, Shahid also has Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Yoddha’, a Netflix film based on the real-life Operation Cactus, Sujoy Ghosh’s next, director duo Raj & DK’s film ‘Farzi’ alongside Kriti Sanon, as well as their web series ‘Sunny’, with Raashi Khanna and Vijay Sethupathi, in the pipeline.
