Ahead of The Family Man S2 Manoj Bajpayee Shares Thoughts on OTT Censorship

Few months ago everyone reported a major news story that said that OTT platforms in India will come under the Ministry of Information and Broadcast. This came as a big shock to the fans of OTT as the intervention by the Ministry will mean that there will be restrictions in OTT too.

Still the Ministry of I&B was generous enough to let OTT function on their own and set self regulations to keep a check on their content. Things went haywire, this January when the much awaited socio political drama “Tandav” was accused of hurting religious sentiments. Things got out of control and this led the Ministry to take action against the web-series by asking them to snip off two scenes.

The next web-series to be released is the highly anticipated Manoj Bajpayee starrer “The Family Man S2“. The Season 1 of the series received a lot of love from the fans and hence waiting for the Season 2 has been quite difficult, as because the wait feels quite long now.

Before the web-series releases Manoj Bapayee, in an interview was asked about his thoughts on the issue of OTT coming under the Ministry of I&B. He went on to say that OTT has been a rising platform for not only young and aspiring talents but also a platform for the stories that are being put out there. He also further mentions that when restrictions will be up for OTT, it will stop the flow of talent from all sides, which will ultimately hamper the content put out there for the world by our country.

Restrictions were never the case for OTT and hence there was always a good flow of healthy talent in the OTT platforms. In the past few years, we saw an immense growth in web-series and films that are made and released for the OTT platforms. Web-series like Sacred Games, Mirzapur, The Family Man and so many new and brilliant ones have come our way and we have enjoyed them thoroughly.

Also, not to forget the recent glories India has been receiving in the field of cinema and creation is coming because of the content released in OTT.
