Ajay Devgn announced his latest project ‘Rudra – The Edge Of Darkness’ that will mark his entry into the premium drama series. ‘Rudra – The Edge Of Darkness’ is a Hotstar Special series and will premiere on Disney+Hotstar VIP and Disney+Hotstar Premium.
As told earlier, Hotstar Special ‘Rudra – The Edge Of Darkness’ will be a reimagination of popular British series ‘Luther‘ and we will get to see Ajay Devgn doing what he does best and that is playing a cop. He will be seen in an in intense and gritty new cop avatar as he débuts into the digital world.
As per Applause Entertainment (‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’, ‘Special OPS’, ‘Criminal Justice’) which will produce the Hotstar Special series alongside BBC Studios India, ‘Rudra – The Edge Of Darkness’ is an engaging and dark new take on cop stories, combined with a unique storytelling format and powerful characters.
A crime-thriller drama ‘Rudra – The Edge Of Darkness’ will reportedly be directed by Rajesh Mapuskar (‘Ferrari ki Sawaari’) and will go into production soon. The series will be shot across iconic locales of Mumbai.

The original ‘Luther’ is a psychological crime drama, starring Idris Alba in the lead and follows a near-genius, dedicated police officer. It spanned five successful seasons which aired from 2010 to 2019. The Indian remake is said to being made on a massive scale with stellar storytelling.
Ajay Devgn’s entry into the world of series is a welcome move coming from a mainstream lead bollywood star who has many hits to his name. Other than ‘Rudra – The Edge Of Darkness’ Ajay has a number of big upcoming projects like ‘RRR’, ‘Bhuj: The Pride Of India’, ‘Maidaan’, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and more.
