Ajay Devgn’s 2018 film ‘Raid’ was a gripping thriller that kept audiences at the edge of their seats throughout its runtime. The tense political and crime movie featured Ajay Devgn as Income Tax (IT) Officer Amay Patnaik, who pulls off a massive IT raid on a powerful and well-connected politician (Saurabh Shukla). The movie was a blockbuster, and Ajay Devgn’s performance came in for high praise.
Now, six years later, Ajay Devgn is all set to reprise his role of Amay Patnaik in a new ‘Raid’ film, tentatively titled ‘Raid 2’. Producers T-Series and Panorama Studios announced the new Raid film on social media this morning. Shoot for the new film kicks off today.
Interestingly, Raid 2 already has a theatrical release date in place. Raid 2 will hit theatres on 15th November, 2024, barely months after kicking off shoot today. Let’s hope producers Kumar Mangat Phatak, Bhushan Kumar and company manage to pull off the insurmountable feat of completing the shoot, post-production and theatrical release of a Bollywood film in precisely 11 months.
Like the 2018 movie Raid, its sequel Raid 2 will also be directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. The stakeholders have not revealed any further information on the rest of the cast and crew of Raid 2, including whether Ileana D’Cruz, Ajay Devgn’s co-star in Raid, will be back for its sequel.
Raid 2 releases in theatres on 15th November, 2024. Stay tuned to Binged for further updates on Ajay Devgn’s Raid sequel.
