Ajay Devgn is gearing up for his two upcoming movies this year with Maidaan and RRR. These movies are all set to arrive theatrically and one expects Ajay Devgn to have a wonderful year. Also his ‘Bhuj : Pride of India‘ is going to be an OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar. The movie was slated to arrive last year but will arrive this year in 2021. Ajay Devgn is one of the top actors and superstar currently in India and will soon be adding another feather in the cap when he’ll be helming the position of director is upcoming movie ‘Mayday’ which also stars Amitabh Bachchan. Recently in an interview he talked about the importance of OTT in current era and also shared his thoughts on box office and theatres.
Ajay Devgn stated the fact that during the pandemic all the theatres were shut as a precautionary measure and due to that several people lost their jobs. Actors and filmmakers were on a limbo so as to where there movies will release and in these tough times OTTs were a godsend. Ajay Devgn’s ‘Bhuj Pride of India’ was purchased by Disney+ Hotstar and will be releasing this year. He also praised the fact that despite OTT platforms doesn’t give happiness of things such as record opener and money spinner, it is a great way to showcase their movies to the worldwide audience.
Devgn, who has been on a hit streak at the theatrical box office pulled some truth bombs on actors. He stated that any actor or filmmaker who states the fact that he doesn’t care about box office numbers is straight up lying to everyone’s faces. He stayed on the topic of theatres and mentioned that now post covid, situation and structure of entertainment has changed and now people won’t be flocking to theatres just for anything. From now on, the audience will only go to the theatres if and only the content is worthwhile.
Apart from this, he is preparing for his upcoming directorial venture ‘Mayday’ which features Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh, Aakanksha Singh, Boman Irani and others.
