Azaad is a 2025 Hindi-language period drama directed by Abhishek Kapoor, featuring Ajay Devgn, Diana Penty, and two star kids making their debut namely Aaman Devgan (Ajay Devgn’s nephew) and Rasha Thadani (Raveena Tandon’s daughter). The film was released in theaters on January 17, 2025, but failed to impress audiences and critics alike, resulting in a box office disaster.
Set in 1920s India, Azaad tells the story of a stable boy, Govind (Aaman Devgan), and his deep bond with a horse named Azaad. As their journey goes on, themes of rebellion and self-discovery emerge. While the premise had potential, the film struggles with weak storytelling, slow pacing, and underwhelming performances. Even seasoned actors like Ajay Devgn and Piyush Mishra couldn’t salvage the experience.
One of the biggest issues with Azaad is its lack of emotional depth. The film tries to create an inspiring tale but ends up feeling predictable and lifeless. The visuals are decent, but the execution is dull, making it a tedious watch.
Despite its failure in theaters, Azaad is now set to stream on Netflix India from midnight on March 14, 2025, which is tonight. Well, if you truly don’t have anything to do on Holi you may consider watching something like Azaad.
