Ajay Devgn’s 2018 investigative crime drama film ‘Raid’ was a super hit both at the box office and amongst the critics. It’s highly awaited sequel ‘Raid 2’ was announced back in 2020 itself and now the film is finally getting ready for release next year.
Devgn will return as IRS officer Amay Patnaik in ‘Raid 2’ and so will director Kumar Gupta who helmed the first part and is now directing the second part as well.
While the plot details are yet to be unveiled, ‘Raid 2’ once again promises a thrilling investigative crime drama that will keep you hooked throughout and will bring back the action, intensity and suspense.
Alongside Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh is onboard as the antagonist while Vaani Kapoor will play the female lead in ‘Raid 2’. Rajat Kapoor will also star in a pivotal role in the film. The shooting has been done mostly in Delhi and Lucknow.
Given the massive success of ‘Raid’, the anticipations are sky high for ‘Raid 2’. Despite being a non masala entertainer, ‘Raid’ had impressed the viewers with its gripping storyline and narrative and the same is expected from the sequel as well. Its success is also important for Devgn whose last two films ‘Maidaan’ and ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ bombed at the box office.
