Ajay Devgn’s first look from the movie features the actor in rage, with red eyes, and with an impression of a fierce lion emanating from his face. Yes, it looks as ridiculous as it sounds. Even amateur artists with a basic digital painting software could have made a far better poster. And here are top marketing teams from the industry coming up with such a ridiculous idea.
Previously, when the first look character posters of Tiger Shroff, Deepika Padukone or Ranveer Singh got released, it looked like the makers were mocking the fans. Only the manic expressions of Deepika in the posters drew some attention. But her holding a gun inside a man’s mouth while wearing a police uniform caused some controversies too. None of the posters till now could intrigue the audiences.
It happened with the poster of ‘Kalki 2898’ too. Prabhas’ poster looked like an exact copy of Iron Man’s. The makers had to change it after the huge controversy. It has happened with many movies like the recent ‘Mission Raniganj’ etc.
The Singham franchise is one of the biggest franchises of Bollywood and it is credited with the introduction of Cinematic Universes in Bollywood. The makers should have put some more effort and money in the first looks too. It is an integral part of a good promotional strategy.
