Since its release three weeks back, the teaser of Netflix’s Ajeeb Daastaans has created a lot of buzz. This morning, since Netflix launched the 124-second trailer of the film, it’s really tempting not be excited about it.
Those who do not know, Ajeeb Daastaans is an anthology of four short films that will showcase the unusual aspects of relationships, and the complexities around them. The biggest thing to be excited about is its extremely fascinating and vibrant cast, which includes Abhishek Banerjee, Aditi Rao Hydari, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Inayat Verma, Jaideep Ahlawat, Konkona Sen Sharma, Manav Kaul, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Shefali Shah, among many others, and every single one’s track record speaks for itself.
We are yet to receive the main aspect of the stories, but it’s evident from the trailer that each story is led by female protagonists be it Nushrratt Bharuccha, Shefali Shah, the Aditi Rao Hydari- Konkona Sen Sharma duo or Fatima Sana Shaikh.
The complete trailer revolves around pain and the rough patches of the relationships. Fatima Sana Shaikh’s pain in a troubled marriage; Shefali Shah’s pain revolving around her mute daughter; Nushrratt Bharuccha’s struggle for existence in a big city; and Hydari-Sen Sharma’s dilemma of not being able to express their unusual love for each other.
Directed by the stellar director quartet of Shashank Khaitan, Raj Mehta, Neeraj Ghaywan and Kayoze Irani, with Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment taking the seat as the producer, Ajeeb Dastaans will go live on 16th April only on Netflix. And we can’t wait to dive deep into this heart-wrenching yet amazing ocean of stories.
