Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar‘s Valimai was announced for theatrical release this Pongal season – 13th January. But the film’s release was postponed due to the Covid situation across the country. Now, here is an interesting update pertaining to Ajith’s remuneration for Valimai.
As per reports, Ajith took only 10% of his usual salary for Valimai. It has always been Ajith’s dream to play a bike racer on screen and he got to realize the same with Valimai. Moreover, Valimai is one of the costliest projects in Ajith’s career. In order to keep the producer of the film, Boney Kapoor on the safer side, he took just 10% of the salary that he usually charges. He fully believes in the script and did not want the producer to compromise on the making costs at the expense of his remuneration, the report reads.
Well, if this really is the case, Ajith Kumar does deserve all the appreciation in the world. The amount of dedication this senior hero has towards his films is all things inspiring.
Ajith plays a bike racer turned cop in Valimai which is being helmed by H Vinoth, who previously directed Ajith for Nerkonda Paarvai, which was also funded by Boney Kapoor. Valimai is the second film marking the collaboration of the trio.
Valimai is likely to be pushed to the Summer 2022 release. The makers are expected to announce the new release date very soon.
Meanwhile, Ajith will be collaborating with H Vinoth for another film. This as yet untitled project will be hitting the floors very soon and more details will be out correspondingly.
