Looks like Bell Bottom has taken the path of A Quiet Place Part II. Confusing? Let us decode that for you. A few days ago on May 28th, A Quiet Place Part II theatrically released in the United States. But It will be available to stream on Paramount+ OTT platform 45 days after its theatrical debut.
Now, why is it said that Bell Bottom is taking the path of the just-released horror movie? Because just now, it has been revealed that Bell Bottom is likely to have a semi-hybrid release. As we know, it was announced by Akshay Kumar and co.a few days back that the Akshay Kumar starrer spy thriller is scheduled to release theatrically on 27th July, 2021. Now, it has been learnt that the producers are planning for the film to go live on Amazon Prime Video within 14 to 15 days of its theatrical release.
Now, as the film is releasing theatrically by the end of July, the makers are surely targeting the independence day weekend which is 15th August, Sunday for Bell Bottom to go live on OTT. This indicates that within 2 weeks of theatrical run, the film will be able to entertain audiences and generate revenue from theatres at the same time, if everything goes well concerning Covid surge and after that OTT will take over where people can enjoy film from the comfort of their home. Now, the final decision on this will be taken after the deal between the producer, Vashu Bhagnani and Amazon.
The first film to be shot abroad after the lockdown in Scotland, the Akshay Kumar film is about a spy in the 1980s. The film also features Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Adil Hussain and Huma Qureshi amongst others. Directed by Ranjit M Tewari, the film is written by Aseem Arrora and Parveez Sheikh, with production by Vashu and Jacky Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment.
