And finally it’s here! Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bell Bottom’ which had been a hot potato for quite a while for when and where it would release, now has a release date and it’s 28th May, 2021. Moreover, the film will go for a theatrical release, putting an end to speculations about it taking the OTT route.
Helmed by Ranjit M Tewari, ‘Bell Bottom’ is a spy-thriller Hindi film written by Aseem Arrora and Parveez Sheikh. Alongside Akshay Kumar playing the role of a RAW agent, the film’s cast includes Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Huma Qureshi in other prominent roles.
Speculations and rumours had surrounded ‘Bell Bottom’ for quite some time. But with theatres allowed to operate at full capacity now, big screen release was an obvious outcome for big budget films like this. After the recent 2021 cinema slate announced by Yash Raj Films, others were expected to follow suit and that’s exactly what’s happening.
While it all began with regional films taking the lead and going to cinemas, highly awaited Hindi films are finally willing to take that leap of faith and very rightly so. But that does not anywhere mean that caution hasn’t been taken. ‘Bell Bottom’s’ release date has been strategically planned as 28th May to avoid any major conflict, given that no other big title is expected as of now around that time.
‘Bell Bottom‘ has been bankrolled by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani. Pooja Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment are the production companies behind the film.
One can easily expect Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sooryavanshi’, Ranveer Singh’s ’83’, Salman Khan’s ‘Radhe’ and many other anticipated tentpole titles to announce their cinema release dates soon!
