Whether his film work well at the box office or not, Akshay Kumar doesn’t take a break and is always ready with his next and it’s time now for the much awaited ‘Ram Setu’. Helmed by Abhishek Sharma, ‘Ram Setu’ will release in theatres this Diwali on 25th October, 2022.
The just launched teaser of ‘Ram Setu’ has Akshay Kumar, playing the role of an archeologist, and his team trying to save the legendary Ram Setu with very little time in hands. Also known as the Adam’s bridge, Ram Setu is the mythological bridge that lord Ram’s army built to cross the mighty ocean and rescue his wife goddess Sita, who was abducted by Lanka King Ravana.
The ‘Ram Setu’ teaser is filled with lots of running around, guns blazing and bombs exploding but nothing seems to impress much except the visual aesthetic of the scenery. What upsets most is the pathetic quality of VFX used in the film that not only disappoints but also makes you loose interest altogether.
The scene where robotic space suit looking under water gear comes into picture looks more funny than scientific. The only thing that makes you go through with the teaser are the varied beautiful topographies ranging from hills, forests, deserts, sea to underwater featured throughout the video.
Akshay Kumar has been launching back to back projects and none of them has been able to perform up to the mark this year. And thus it once again brings to light the hot debate of quantity winning over quality for the Khiladi star.
Written and directed by Abhishek Sharma, ‘Ram Setu’ also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Satya Dev among others. Set to release in cinemas this Diwali on 25th October, 2022, ‘Ram Setu’ is produced by Aruna Bhatia and Vikram Malhotra. The production companies behind the film are Cape of Good Films, Abundantia Entertainment, Amazon Prime Video and Lyca Productions.
