Actors Al Pacino, Toby Kebbell, and Katie Holmes are set to star in the upcoming thriller ‘Captivated’, which will be presented for sale at the Cannes Film Festival. International Film Trust is launching (selling) the movie.
Toby Kebbell will play Saro Mammoliti, a mafia boss, in the film. The present-day version of the character will be played by Al Pacino. His entire crime organisation reaches the brink of collapse after Saro kidnaps the grandson of Jean Paul Getty, one of the wealthiest men in the world. Things get more complicated after Saro falls in love with Holmes’ character, Abigail Harris, the victim’s mother.
One of the co-producers of ‘Captivated’ is Michael Mammoliti, the nephew of Saro Mammoliti, the movie’s protagonist. The film’s storyline looks similar to the story of Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World (2017), which focused on the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer), and how his grandfather, John Paul Getty I (Christopher Plummer), kept refusing to accept the kidnappers’ extortion demands.
It seems like ‘Captivated’ will focus more on Saro’s love interest in Abigail Harris, Getty III’s mother, the character played by Michelle Williams in Ridley’s 2017 biographical crime film.
Apart from Michael Mammoliti, Michael Benaroya and Manasvi Mamgai of 32RED Entertainment and Andrea Bucko of Sugar Rush Pictures will produce the film.
