After making her debut with Saif Ali Khan and Tabu in ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’, young actress Alaya Furniturewalla, is ready for her next film. She will now feature in the Hindi remake of Kannada film ‘U Turn’.
This latest film will be produced by Ekta Kapoor through Cult Movies, a new division of Balaji Telefilms. Talking to a news portal, Kapoor was all praises for Alaya and said that she has this self-assured yet vulnerable quality to her that she believes can connect with audiences. About the movie she said that it takes the audience on a ride with twists and turns galore, and provides edge-of-the-seat excitement.
Debutant director Arif Khan will helm the Hindi remake of the 2016 supernatural thriller film ‘U Turn’. Shooting for the film will begin in Mumbai tomorrow. The original version was written,directed and produced by Pawan Kumar and starred Shardhha Srinath (‘Maara’, ‘Vikram Vedha’, ‘Krishna and His Leela’) in the lead.
The story of ‘U Turn’ follows an intern journalist who along with an inspector tries to investigate the death of motorists who broke traffic rules on a particular flyover in Bangalore and subsequently find the culprit.
‘U Turn’ has already been remade in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Bengali. The film is available on YouTube to watch even with Hindi dubbing. Outside India, it has been remade in Sinhala and Filipino languages. Given that the film has had so many remakes and is easily available for viewing, how the makers are going to attract the target Hindi audience will be interesting to watch out.
