Prime Video India has an interesting new series coming up later this month. Titled ‘Poacher’, the series premieres on Prime Video worldwide on 23rd February, 2024.
In an exciting new development, Prime Video India revealed this morning that Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is now a part of the upcoming series, ‘Poacher’. However, she’s not on board in an acting capacity but as an executive producer on the show. The already heavy-duty names behind the show have just gotten bigger with Alia Bhatt hopping on to ‘Poacher’.
Investigative drama series ‘Poacher’ comes from the deft hand of Richie Mehta, the creator of Netflix’s stellar series, ‘Delhi Crime’. Richie Mehta has created, written and directed ‘Poacher’. The series is produced by QC Entertainment, the production and finance company behind Oscar-winning movies, Jordan Peele’s ‘Get Out’ and Spike Lee’s ‘BlacKkKlansman’. Poacher will be the first series ever from QC Entertainment.
The cast of ‘Poacher’ is intriguing as well, with off-beat names such as Malayalam actors Nimisha Sajayan (The Great Indian Kitchen) and Roshan Mathew (Kappela, Darlings) playing leads. Accomplished actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya (The Railway Men, Undekhi) lends heft to the cast of Poacher.
‘Poacher’ is an investigative drama that recounts how brave police personnel, conscientious government officials and courageous common folk got together to bust the biggest illegal ivory-smuggling operation in the country. It is based on true incidents and real-life drama.
