Alia Bhatt’s ‘Jigra’ Swaps Release Date With Jr NTR’s ‘Devara’

That was quick! As soon as Jr NTR’s ‘Devara: Part 1’ shifts to September 27, Alia Bhatt’s ‘Jigra’ changes its release to October 11. Both the films basically swapped their earlier announced release dates.

It might sound so, but these decisions aren’t instantaneous and are taken after much brainstorming and analytical analysis considering every aspect of the movie market. These are very strategic shifts done after negotiations in the industry, and it demonstrates the flexibility and adaptability of production houses to optimize their film’s success.

‘Jigra’ marks another significant project for Alia Bhatt, known for her versatile performances and box office success. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vasan Bala (‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’, ‘Monica, O My Darling’, ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’, ‘Bombay Velvet’), the film promises to be a gripping drama that showcases Bhatt’s acting prowess in a new light. With its new release date, the marketing campaign for ‘Jigra’ is expected to kick into high gear, ramping up excitement as the release approaches.

Written by Debashish Irengbam, ‘Jigra’ is touted to be a story of courage, passion and determination of a young woman who will cross any obstacle to fulfill her promise at any cost. The film also stars Vedang Raina.

‘Jigra’ is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt and Somen Mishra. Marijke DeSouza serves as the co-producer. Achint Thakkar has composed music for the film with cinematography from Swapnil S. Sonawane and editing by Prerna Saigal. ‘Jigra’ will release in theatres on 11th October, 2024. Post theatrical streaming rights for the film are acquired by Netflix.
