Just a few days back, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ actress Alia Bhatt had left the country to shoot for her first ever Hollywood project – the much-awaited spy movie ‘Heart of Stone’.
In the film, Alia Bhatt will be sharing screen space with the globally renowned Israeli actress Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman, Red Notice) and Jamie Dornan (‘Belfast’, ‘The Fall’, ‘The Tourist’). It is already known that Gal Gadot would be essaying the role of a deadly intelligence operative named Rachel Stone.
While the film’s plot is being under the wraps for obvious reasons, even the details about precisely what role Alia Bhatt is playing were also not revealed. However, as per the latest buzz, we now have some info on Alia Bhatt’s role in ‘Heart of Stone’.
Alia Bhatt’s character in the spy film will ostensibly be that of an Indo-American intelligence operative named Maya Singh. Moreover, it’s not going to be a minor role, rather it’s one of the lead roles and an important one. Yes, you heard that right. And if the information indeed turns out to be true, then we might have the pleasure of witnessing another profound performance by Alia Bhatt. Previously, she had perfectly essayed a rather similar role of a RAW agent in Meghna Gulzar’s spy thriller ‘Raazi’.
‘Heart of Stone’ is being helmed by Tom Harper, whose earlier directorial credits include ‘Misfits’, ‘Peaky Blinders’, ‘The Son’, and ‘Electric Dreams’, amongst others. The ambitious movie was earlier being described to be the beginning of a franchise on the lines of the ‘Mission: Impossible’ film series.
Other than ‘Heart of Stone’, Alia Bhatt’s forthcoming acting projects include ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ co-starring Ranveer Singh, Ayan Mukherjee’s superhero movie ‘Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’ co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar’s road-film ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Baiju Bawra’, and the Netflix film ‘Darlings’, etc.
