‘Alice In Borderland Season 2’ is trending as the number 1 non-English web series across the globe on Netflix. The series has a huge hype right now and it is getting the views it deserves. The eight episodes of the Japanese live-action manga adaptation were released on the 22nd of December and they went beyond the expectations of fans. The pre-existing fan base of the show from the manga and the first season was happy to see where the show was going with the second season.
But the show is failing to create that kind of buzz in India. Alice In Borderland 2 is trending at number 6 on Netflix India, which is very disappointing for a show with such potential and content. It is difficult to find out what is wrong with the promotional strategies of Netflix India regarding this show and what is the cause behind ‘Alice In Borderland’ lagging at number 6 while it is the number 1 non-English show internationally. ‘Wednesday’ is still trending at number 1 with ‘Emily In Paris S3’ and ‘The Recruit’ trending at numbers 2 and 3 respectively. On the other hand, the hype for Alice In Borderland is so high that the first season of the series too is trending at number 2 globally.
Alice In Borderland is a Japanese science fiction thriller adapted from the manga by Haro Aso. Both season 1 and season 2 of the series are directed by Shinsuke Sato. The first season premiered on July 10 of 2020 and got great reviews and ratings, it had pretty good views too. It told the story of Arisu, an obsessed gamer, in the first season. Arisu and his friends are trapped in a strange and emptied version of Tokyo and they have to compete in dangerous games to extend their ‘Visa’, which, if expired, will cause their death. In the second season, they go to the next stage of the game and have to play more sadistic and vicious games for survival.
