All Indian News Channels To Disappear From Disney Plus Hotstar From 1 July

News content from all the top news channels in India is one of the popular offerings on Disney Plus Hotstar. Getting all news, including a vast offering of regional news, under one platform is a very convenient facility for Disney Plus Hotstar subscribers. However, all that is set to change. Starting from 1st July, all Indian news channels will disappear from Disney Plus Hotstar. That means Disney+ Hotstar will no longer stream news content on its platform from the upcoming month.

The reason for this is that Disney Plus Hotstar will lose the digital rights to stream the content of these news channels, effective from 1st July, and thus can no longer stream their news content. The news channels in question are platforms such as India Today, Zee News, Republic TV, ABP News and all its subsidiary channels, NewsX, Aaj Tak, TV5 News and its regional channels, Kairali News, Polimer News, among other Indian news channels.

Disney+ Hotstar will, however, continue to stream the news content of Fox News, a company owned by parent, The Walt Disney Co. Along with Fox News, it will stream Fox Business, Fox Life and other Fox News subsidiary channels.

So don’t be surprised if you log on to Disney+ Hotstar to catch up on news and find that there’s nothing there. To reiterate, all Indian news channels will be deactivated on Disney Plus Hotstar from 1st July 2021.
