Bollywood ki Home Delivery-Disney Plus- HotstarThe buzz regarding the OTT releases so far has been centred on the small to medium budget flicks. That is about to change now. Disney Plus Hotstar is all set to come up with the mother of all OTT announcements.

Dubbed as ‘Bollywood ki Home Delivery’, Disney Plus Hotstar promises a star-studded line-up. The films of Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Alia Bhatt etc. are going to have digital launches.

A formal online function is going to be held to make the OTT announcements on June 29th. Top young star Varun Dhawan will host the virtual event. It is expected to have the presence of all the above-mentioned stars.

The initial set of announcements would include nine films. They are Laxmmi Bomb (Akshay Kumar), Bhuj – The Pride Of India (Ajay Devgn), The Big Bull (Abhishek Bachchan), Sadak 2 (Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt), Sushant Singh Rajput’s last outing Dil Bechara, Mimi starring Kriti Sanon, Shiddat featuring Sunny Kaushal and Radhika Madan, Kunal Khemu’s Lootcase, and last but not the least, Vidyut Jammwal starrer Khuda Hafiz.

Without any doubt, the announcement is going to create a ripple in the film industry. It could prompt a lot of other big-name flicks to reconsider the release option. The fans, no doubt, would be thrilled. We have to see how the distribution and exhibition segment reacts.
