Now, Applause Entertainment is making a web series on the historical incident, and it is headlined by talented actor, Amit Sadh, who tasted web success with Amazon Prime’s Breathe. The show is called Avrodh, and it is likely to hit the digital space early next year.
While Uri was a fictional account of the surgical strikes, Avrodh promises to depict the actual version and sequence of events that played out that night. If course, Avrodh has ten episodes to relate a detailed account of the incident, something a 120-130 minute movie can ill afford. Amit Sadh plays the reel version of real-life Indian Army officer, Major Tango, who spearheaded the surgical strikes.
In a statement to the media, Amit Sadh said,
“My character offers scope to display a fresh side of me as an actor – Major Tango is someone that has many shades to him – bravery, a host of emotions, and everything in between.”
Shooting for Avrodh, earlier named India Strikes, is complete, and the show is now in the post-production stages. The series has been directed by Raj Acharya, the director of The Battle Of Saragarhi on Discovery Jeet. Besides Amit Sadh, the show features Darshan Kumaar, Vikram Gokhale, Neeraj Kabi, Anant Mahadevan, and Madhurima Tuli in pivotal roles.
