The Teacher, that marked actor Amala Paul’s return to malayalam cinema released at the theatres this week and has been garnering mixed to positive reception. This revenge drama is coming from the makers of Athiran and writing team of Take Off. We have learnt that the digital rights of ‘The Teacher’ are with Netflix India. Considering a 28 day window period, the film is most likely hitting the streaming giant on 30th December.
‘The Teacher‘ follows the story of a school teacher whose life turns upside down after a sexual assault and private video resurgence. Amala Paul plays the titular protagonist who avenges her perpetrators. Who are her perpetrators? And how she extracts her revenge forms The crux of the movie. The tagline of the movie reads” Never Forgive. Never Forget”.
Directed by Vivek who formerly directed Athiran and written by PV Shajikumar (Take Off), The Teacher stars Amala Paul,Manju Pillai, Chemban Vinod Jose, Hakeem Shajahan, Prashanth Murali, Nandu, Hareesh Pengan, Anumol, Mala Parvathy, and Vineetha Koshy in pivotal roles. After a long break from Malayalam Movies, Amala has a string of films lined up in her kitty for the coming years besides The Teacher, including Christopher, Aadujeevitham and Dvija.
