The fly-on-the-wall documentary “All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspurs”, helmed by the OTT giants Amazon dropped a sneak peak trailer yesterday. The documentary, which is said to be showcasing the Hotspurs’ tumultuous 19/20 season, will be releasing in Autumn this year.
The First Look Trailer which was 41 seconds long, dropped two weeks ago, mainly highlighting the sacking of the Argentinian Mauricio Pochettino and the subsequent hiring of Jose Mourinho as the manager for the English Top Flight Club. In the sneak peak (which was slightly longer, but still a short 53 second video) titled ‘The Bond in the Squad is Strong’, features four of the Spurs players (Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Steven Bergwijn and Ryan Sessegnon) relaxing and playing Fifa.
“People always used to tell me before there’s no friends in football, but my teammates here are my family and I would call every one of them, my friend”, says English midfielder Dele Alli as he narrates over the montage of clips showing the foursome joking around and chilling. The Sneak Peak wanted to signify unity within the squad and it definitely showed us that. But that is all that looks up for the English Club.
After the successes of “All or Nothing: Manchester City” and “Take Us Home: Leeds United”, both fly-on the-wall-documentaries (about the clubs Manchester City and leeds United respectively), both created by Amazon; this project was also touted to be a success. But in the case of both clubs, Manchester City won the League and Leeds had an excellent season. Leeds, even though didn’t get promoted to the Premier League, also had additional star power in their narrator, Russel Crowe (Yes, THAT Russel Crowe).
Spurs have had a car crash of a season (in comparison to the other two), where their owner Daniel Levy sacked the coach Pochettino, a world renowned manager, who took them to the coveted Champions League four times in a row and the CL final last year for the first time in club history. The appointment of the Portuguese manger Mourinho sounded good on paper but it hasn’t yielded the results the club was used to for the past few years. The club transfer record breaker, Tanguy Ndombele has rarely been featured in the starting 11 since the new coach has come in. Tottenham have finished 6th in the league, the first time in five years they haven’t made it into the Champions League.
But all hope is not lost. Amazon has been known to create gems from uncut stones and we are expecting a brilliant diamond after that beautiful Sneak Peak.
