Amazon Drops First Teaser of Dead Ringers Reboot, Stars Rachel Weisz

Amazon’s adaptation of David Cronenberg’s iconic psychological thriller, Dead Ringers, is soon coming to Prime Video. The streaming service has dropped the first teaser of its upcoming reboot project, starring Rachel Weisz.

The series will serve as a modern take on Cronenberg’s 1988 film, featuring Weisz in dual roles of Beverly and Elliot Mantle. They are twins who share everything – drugs, love, and the desire to push the boundaries of medical science. Their common goal is to bring women’s healthcare into the spotlight. The series will consist of six episodes and premiere on Prime Video on April 21.

Apart from leading the reboot, Rachel Weisz will also co-executively produce the limited series. Emmy-nominated writer, Alice Birch, will serve as the show’s writer, creator, and executive producer. She is best known for her work in hits like Succession, Normal People, and The Wonder. As for the cast, performers like Britne Oldford, Poppy Liu, Michael Chernus, Jennifer Ehle, and Emily Meade are a part of the series.

The Iron Claw’s Sean Durkin has helmed the first two episodes. He is also one of the show’s executive producers. In addition to him, the helming unit treasures directors like Karena Evans, Karyn Kusama, and Lauren Wolkstein.

Rachel Weisz’s Dead Ringers is a joint production of Amazon and Annapurna Pictures. The series will release on Prime Video on April 21. Stay tuned for more updates.
