Claimed to have been launched on the demand of youngsters and offering a wholesome entertainment, these short films will start streaming for free on Amazon MiniTV within the Amazon shopping app from 22nd September, 2022.

Through this MinI Movie Festival, Amazon MiniTV aims to bring together a diverse set of stories with a bunch of talented actors. The group of short films set to launch for free on Amazon MiniTV will range from romance to legal drama and more.

First up we have Civic Studios’ ‘Vakeel Babu’, a short film that has already been to multiple national and international Film Festivals after premiering at the New York Indian Film Festival. Directed by Sumit Purohit (‘Scam 1992’, ‘Inside Edge’), the short film follows a young lawyer who is distracted with chasing success through his digital video channel and is then approached online by an anonymous victim with a powerful abuser – will he take the case?.

‘Vakeel Babu’ stars Abhishek Banerjee (‘Mirzapur’, ‘Pataal Lok’, ‘Stree’), esteemed Gujarati and Hindi TV and theatre actor Bhamini Oza Gandhi and Lovleen Misra (‘Raees’, ‘Little Things’, ‘Amu’). With a story and screenplay by Kanishka and Suyash Barve, the short film is co-produced by Traintripper Films.

Next is Roy Kapur Films’ ‘The List’ which is written and directed by debutant Gaurav Dave and stars Kirti Kulhari and Angad Bedi in lead roles. ‘The List’ is touted to be a unique and thought-provoking short film that takes an incisive look into the life of an urban Indian couple in their early 30s.

Then there’s two mini movies from Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment – ‘Good Morning’ and ‘Conditions Apply’. Directed by Jyoti Kapur Das and starring Neha Dhupia, ‘Good Morning’ is the story of a multi-tasking super mom and intends to inspire viewers with a heartwarming tale on motherhood.

On the other hand, ‘Condition Apply’ helmed by Puja Banerjee and lead by Shreya Chaudhary and Mrinal Dutt, is a classic relationship drama with a twist. It explores the idea of love and things one does to find closure after a breakup.

Last but not the least is ‘Parde Mein Rehne Do’ that explores the attraction, confusion and complexity faced by a soon to be divorced woman in her 30s, who meets someone she likes on a dating app. This unusual and untouched story is directed by Heena Dsouza and stars Malishka Mendonsa.
