The latest in the Amazon Prime Video successful regional kitty is Malayalam suspense-drama ‘Sunny‘, starring Jayasurya in the lead. Written and directed by Ranjith Sankar, the Amazon original movie premieres on the streaming platform on 23rd September. The film marks actor Jayasurya’s 100th film and the duo’s 8th collaboration together. Jointly produced by Ranjith Sankar and Jayasurya under the banner Dreams N Beyond, ‘Sunny’ is about a musician by the same name, played by Jayasurya.
‘Sunny’ is an emotional tale of a musician who loses love, money and his best friend, thereby finding himself at a juncture with no inspiration and motivation to compose music. The story follows a sudden turn of events and interactions with complete strangers, that help him focus, feel hopeful and find joy in life again. The short 44-second teaser has us from the word go. With great background music, one is lured into the tale and left with asking for more.
Actor Jayasurya is thrilled that ‘Sunny’ that will reach a global audience with its premiere on the streaming platform, since it streams in more than 240 countries across the globe. “This is my 100th film as an actor and I couldn’t be more humbled to play yet another striking character. I have had a prolific partnership with Ranjith throughout, and this one is truly special,” Jayasurya said. Incidentally, the actor’s film ‘Sufiyum Sujathayum‘ also released on Amazon Prime Video last year.
