Malayalam cinema’s second biggest blockbuster Lucifer starring the Superstar Mohan Lal is out on Amazon Prime. It marked the directorial debut of actor Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Lucifer is among those films which came with high hype and delivered. The Mohan Lal starrer is an apologetic mass entertainer made on a grand scale with a lot of classiness. If you love mass films with larger than life elevations of the star hero, then Lucifer is the movie. The star at the centre has been used effectively, in parts, keeping the overall larger scheme of things.
Those who have missed Lucifer on the big screen can definitely give it a try on the streaming site. The movie has its share of dragging moments which can be forwarded easily. Also, the confusion regarding the presence of several characters too can be removed. And mind you, there are many!
Commercially, Lucifer was a massive success. It is the highest grossing Malayalam movie of all time in the overseas market, which in turn helped it become the fastest 100 Cr grosser. However, worldwide it is the second best behind another Mohan Lal starrer Pulimurugan.
More than the commercial aspects, it is said that Prithviraj wants to turn Lucifer into a franchise, with Mohan Lal carrying on the mantle. If that is the case, Lucifer will serve as a gentle introduction to the character.
