Many of you may have already heard – the teaser trailer for the upcoming Lord of The Rings will be dropping during the Super Bowl Half-Time. However, for those who cannot watch the promo during the sporting event – there is a lesser-known watch-along party organised by Amazon Prime Video. This watch-along party for the teaser trailer of Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power will happen in couple of days on Amazon Prime Video’s official YouTube channel. Check out the the link for the aforementioned “party” at the end of this article.
The upcoming teaser has been a long time coming, especially since the web series was announced a couple of years ago. In a couple of days, however, every hardcore Lord of The Rings fan will have enough information about the fantasy series to speculate about it. The series will be based on the Second Age of Middle Earth, around 2000 or so years before the events of the Lord of the Rings films. As the title of the show suggests – the show should focus on the creation of the Rings of Power and the primary antagonist of the whole Lord of The Rings franchise, Sauron.
The above-mentioned, upcoming spin-off prequel web series to the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit film franchises is the most expensive TV series of all time – with half a billion USD set aside by Amazon Prime Video for its 5-season production. The filmmakers behind the show has taken a few creative liberties with Peter Jackson’s original epic by adding a much more diverse cast from the original film series and introducing new, unheard of characters to the show. For now, we will have to see how the show will fair once it premieres online, this summer.
The highly anticipated fantasy web series Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 2nd 2022. The previously mentioned watch party for the teaser trailer opens in a couple of days, on 14th February 2022 at 7:15 am IST.
