It’s here people, it’s finally here. Amazon Prime Video makes its official announcement with the release date of Dhanush’s blockbuster “Karnan”. The film will release digitally on Amazon Prime Video on the 14th of May.
This isn’t surprising to many, as it was already speculated and known that the movie might be dropping on the platform on the 14th of May, itself. But, with the official announcement that Prime Video just released on its social media accounts, it confirms the speculations of many and also if many didn’t know, it’s now out there in the open.
The movie which was released on 9th of April, 2021 was deemed a blockbuster amidst the ongoing pandemic. The movie received rave reviews from both the audience as well as the critics. The makers were very sure of their decision of releasing it in theatres before releasing it to any platform. Even when the occupancy was brought down to 50% once again with the second wave of Covid-19, the movie did extremely well and one needs to thank Dhanush and his superstardom for that.
This was one of Dhanush’s much awaited movies and the makers and the star himself were really happy with the outcome it had as soon as it released in the theatres. Dhanush who has been supporting the release of movies in theatres first was one of the happiest with the decision. Earlier this year, when the makers of his movie “Jagame Thanthiram” revealed that it was going for digital release, instead of going to theatres first, Dhanush clearly expressed how he was not happy with the decision.
The release of the movie “Karnan” came at a very crucial time. As theatres were struggling and it would get even more difficult with the coming second wave of pandemic at that time.
The movie has been written and directed by Mari Selvaraj. The movie tells the story of a guy who refuses to let his caste and status define his worth. He comes up as this young, rebellious person ready to take on the world, no matter what. The movie also stars Lal, Yogi Babu, Azhagam Perumal, Natarajan Subramaniam, Rajisha Vijayan, Gouri G. Kishan and Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli.
The movie coming on Amazon has brought in excitement in people from everywhere, as many who couldn’t go to the theatres to witness the movie’s magnificence will finally be able to watch the movie from the comfort of their home. While others who watched it in theatres are ready for another rewatch.
