Evaru starred Adivi Sesh, Regina Cassandra and Naveen Chandra in the lead roles. It is, in reality, a Telugu adaptation of Spanish thriller The Invisible Guest. To those who are unaware, the same original also had a Hindi remake (officially) called Badla. It had Amitabh Bachchan and Tapsee in the lead.
Coming back to Evaru, the basic premise of the original has been given a fresh tweaking in the Telugu remake. To know what it is, you have to watch the movie. Venkat Ramji, as a director has done an excellent job in making it adequate to the local sensibilities. The dialogues by Abburi Ravi bring freshness and depth to the proceedings.
Evaru released on Independence Day, which was exactly a month ago. It emerged as the career biggest hit of Adivi Sesh by collecting a share of more than 10 Cr. The movie performed well in the Telugu states (A-Centres) as well as the US.
It is the kind of movie that is perfect for binge-watching. Also, as it’s a remake, one can have fun with comparison as well. The original Spanish thriller (Netflix -The Invisible Guest) and it’s Hindi (Netflix -Badla) and Telugu remakes are all available online.
