The controversial Falaknuma Das is out on the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video. The movie hit the headlines courtesy its lead hero Vishwak Sen’s off-screen antics. The film hit the cinemas theatrically on May 31st.
Falaknuma Das is a realistic drama set in the town of Falaknuma. It deals with local issues involving a bunch of friends who are swayed by anti-social elements. How they grow in life and eventually settle is showcased in a straightforward narrative. It was the remake of Malayalam film Angamaly Dairies.
Vishwak Sen not only acted in the lead but also directed the movie. Harshita Gaur was the female lead. Senior actor Uttej played a full length supporting part after a long time. The music, especially the background score by Vivek Sagar, was sensational.
The colorful language in Telangana accent is a significant draw for Falaknuma Das. It has captured the spirit of the locality well, but as a film, it loses focus post intermission. Also, the novelty of the dialogues and slang wears off after initial high. Still, all of this would be a problem theatrically, but for binge-watching, it is an ideal movie.
