The news of the direct OTT release of Dharma Productions’ film “Shershaah” is now confirmed. Amazon Prime Video today dropped the date announcement video and the first look of Shershaah, a war drama based on the heroic life of Kargil War hero, Captain Vikram Batra. Shershaah will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 12th August, right in time to enthrall audiences in the Independence Day weekend.
Actor Sidharth Malhotra has essayed the role of Captain Vikram Batra in Shershaah. Kiara Advani too plays a pivotal role in the film. Shershaah has been directed by Vishnuvardhan, director of Tamil hits such as Arrambam, Billa and Pattiyal, among others. Shershaah will mark Vishnuvardhan’s Hindi films directorial debut.
For those that don’t know, Captain Vikram Batra played a significant role in the Indian army’s fightback against the Pakistani incursion in Kargil, ensuring victory for the country. He sacrificed his life while defending the country, at the tender age of 24. He was honoured with the Param Vir Chakra posthumously, India’s highest military honour. The title of the film comes from the nickname Sher Shah, given to him by the Pakistani army. The first look of the film Shershaah is enough to give goosebumps to every Indian worth his salt.
