According to a recent report, Amazon Prime has thrice the content of Netflix. Netflix allegedly has 3781 movies while Amazon Prime has 12,828! So, while Netflix might have more subscribers across the world, when it comes to choice Amazon Prime spoils the viewers. It’s important to note, Netflix has the best search engine and despite the plethora of movies on Amazon Prime, many of them are B-grade oldies or straight-to-video fare you’ll likely never want to watch. There are of course, some bigger hits, but even those will likely be at least a few years old.
If one goes by sheer number, a Netflix subscription turns out to be much more expensive as compared to Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime is way cheaper than Netflix as you are charged Rs 999 annually and Rs 129 monthly for Prime whereas Netflix’s basic plan starts at Rs 500 and goes up till Rs 800 per month. Amazon Prime also has more regional content than Netflix. You will find Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and similar more regional movies, whereas Netflix has a rich library of international content but regional content still needs to grow.
Despite all the numbers, if you’re not sure which one to choose, go for both. Having a few streaming services gives you choice and allows for a great entertainment experience right from your living room.
