After facing daily blues as a tenant in several households, Anjanam finally buys his own flat, which invites lady luck into his life. However, a rat becomes the cause of major trouble in his house and even creates havoc in his love life. How does Anjanam get past this? Directed by Nelson Venkatesan and featuring S.J. Surya, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Karunakaran in lead roles marked the return of animal driven-comedies in Tamil cinema earlier this year (after Naan Ee). Opening to terrific reviews all over, the movie has its fair share of fun element to tickle a viewer’s funny bone.
The official remake of Jr NTR’s Temper in Tamil, Ayogya is the story of a corrupt police officer, whose life takes a different course after the death of an innocent child. Though actor Vishal is no Jr NTR here, the director Venkat Mohan incorporates several changes to the original and makes it a reasonably interesting watch. While Parthiban’s villainous act did win him good applause, Raashi Khanna also makes her presence felt. May make for a better viewing experience if one hasn’t watched the original. Despite good praise from critics, the film couldn’t hold its own at the box office.
