Amazon To Bring Religious Series & Films On Prime

Have you watched Netflix’s The Devil All The Time? Well, you must if you haven’t. There is a monologue by Robert Pattinson where he says that the Devil plays tricks or delusions to keep us from attending Sunday services and ultimately God. Well, no worries as you can watch religious films on weekends. Amazon is bringing such films and series.

Amazon MGM Studios has joined forces with The Wonder Project to bring religious films and series to audiences worldwide. The collaboration has resulted in the production of the series “House of David,” which has been exclusively ordered by Amazon for its Prime Video platform.

The Wonder Project, led by industry veterans Jon Erwin and Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten, with support from Dallas Jenkins, the creator of the popular Biblical series “The Chosen,” aims to tell universal stories of love, triumph, and spirituality.

“House of David” narrates the story of David, the Biblical figure destined to become the king of the Israelites. The series begins as King Saul, once mighty, succumbs to his own pride. A prophet foretells his overthrow, anointing the shepherd boy David as the next king. Amidst love and political intrigue in Saul’s court, David must navigate his destiny. The clash between the two kings sets the stage for an epic war.

Needless to say, it is highly tempting. But Amazon has had a history of messing up the big budget series with poor writing. This happened in the case of Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power and it continued through Citadel. Let’s hope that is not the case here. Because people already know the story of David, the screenplay and the execution of it will matter.
