Genser and his team work together to free or extract prisoners of conscience, also known as Human Rights Prisoners from the World’s most dangerous and politically charged hot-spots. His core team is filled with specialized operatives with years of field experience, who have found multiple ways to extract their principals in the varying political climates.
Both Bloom and Genser are excited to bring this show to the world. Genser wanted to show the things happening behind the scene of an extraction where there are actual real world heroes and villains, with real lives at stake. Bloom believes that a show of such a premise will be hard-hitting and dynamic, while exploring untold stories of psychological, physical and mental injustices happening around the globe.
Many of these extractions have been well documented and widely covered in the media, so much so that the New York Times have dubbed him The ‘Extractor’. Genser has also served as international council to various prominent human rights activists and defenders, who are, but not limited to Václav Havel, Desmond Tutu, Elie Wiesel, Liu Xiaobo and his wife Liu Xia.
The untitled series will be based on Genser and his team. No writer has agreed to pen the show yet, nor has Orlando Bloom agreed to act in the series. But he will co-produce the project through his production company Amazing Owl Productions along with Amazon and former HBO Executive Vice President of Production Bruce Richmond. Genser will also be a part of the project as it’s co-executive producer.
