Steve Lightfoot has joined Amazon’s Spider-Man Noir live-action series as co-showrunner. Amazon has collaborated with Sony for this project, and its development has commenced. Lightfoot is best known for his work as a showrunner and writer on Netflix’s The Punisher series.
As per the latest report from Variety, Lightfoot will take care of the responsibility of a showrunner alongside Oren Uziel, the series’ head writer and one of the executive producers.
The upcoming live-action Spider-Man Noir series belongs to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. It was announced back in February this year.
The series will revolve around an older and grizzled superhero in 1930s New York City. Additionally, an insider from the project has revealed that the show’s main character will not be Peter Parker.
Steve Lightfoot has worked on other prominent projects as well, such as NBC’s Hannibal series, Netflix’s miniseries Behind Her Eyes, and Shantaram from the Apple TV+ streaming platform.
Apart from the Spider-Man Noir series, Amazon is also working on the “Silk: Spider Society” series with showrunner Angela Kang. Many shows related to Sony’s SSU have been planned as well, given the fact that the studio controls more than 900 comic book characters that are linked with Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise.
The forthcoming Amazon’s Spider-Man Noir series will stream on both MGM+ and Prime Video. It does not have a release window yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
