A heartwarming family drama ‘Tikdam’ had its world premiere at International Film Festival of Houston last year and received Special Recognition award there. Having been part of few other film festivals since then ‘Tikdam’ is finally set to release for public on Jio Cinema on 23rd August, 2024.
‘Tikdam’ is a story of migration set in a small hill town. With lack of job opportunities, the father decides to leave for a bigger city to earn a living. The children are inconsolable and want to stop Prakash from leaving at any cost, so they set off on an adventure of a lifetime, where they learn about migration, lack of tourism and global warming.
With a story by Animesh Verma, ‘Tikdam’ is directed by Vivek Anchalia and it portrays the struggles of a lower middle class father and the triumph of innocent efforts. Amit Sial who is known for more serious and hard hitting roles like those in ‘Maharani’, ‘Jamtara’, ‘Kathmandu Connection’, ‘Mirzapur’, ‘Inside Edge’ and more, stars in ‘Tikdam’ as a simple middle class father trying to make ends meet for his family.
In addition to Sial, ‘Tikdam’ stars Arisht Jain, Aarohi Saud, Divyansh Dwivedi, Nayan Bhatt and Ajit Sarwotam Kelkar in prominent roles.
‘Tikdam’ is produced by Jyoti Deshpande for Jio Studios in association with Poonam Shroff, Parth Gajjar, Savio Shenoy, and Shweta Sharma Anchalia. ‘Tikdam’ will premiere only on Jio Cinema on 23rd August, 2024.
