Ana De Armas’ much-talked-about Netflix movie ‘Blonde’ may have received mixed reviews from critics and audiences, but the film is a clear winner someplace else – in the nominations list for the Razzie Awards 2023! The Netflix film has received the most number of nominations at the annual Razzie Awards 2023, aka Golden Raspberry Awards – the Awards that recognise the WORST movies of the year.
‘Blonde’ has received a total of eight Razzies nominations, including for Worst Picture, Worst Direction and Worst Screenplay. Thankfully, the Razzie Awards noms have spared Ana De Armas from being nominated for Worst Actress.
The Razzies haven’t been as kind with two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks, though. The actor has been nominated thrice in this year’s Razzies noms – Worst Actor, for his turn as Gepetto in Disney’s ‘Pinocchio’; Worst Supporting Actor for Elvis; and Worst Couple, for Tom Hanks & His Latex-Laden Face (and Ludicrous Accent) in Elvis!
That is not all. The Worst Couple category has a couple of other outrageous nominations. One of them is Andrew Dominik & His Issues with Women in ‘Blonde’, another is ‘Both Real Life Characters in the Fallacious White House Bedroom Scene’ in ‘Blonde’, and so on.
Other leaders in the Razzies nominations list are ‘Disney’s Pinocchio’ with six nominations, and ‘Morbius’ with five nominations.
The 43rd annual Golden Raspberry Awards or Razzie Awards will be held on 11th March, 2023 in Los Angeles. The Razzie Awards are traditionally held a day or two before the Oscars. This year, the Academy Awards 2023 are slated to be announced on 13th March.
