Anand Deverakonda’s Second film, Middle Class Melodies skipped its theatrical release and streamed online on Amazon Prime Video. The movie’s premiere happened last night and the initial response has been good. The movie makes a good digital watch and Anand Deverakonda scores a point there.
One more glaring point in the movie is the portrayal of the story in Guntur’s backdrop. The song which comes about the various places and food in the city will ignite nostalgia in the people who live and who lived there. Usually, in the film industry, filmmakers tend to center the story at a place and shoot the film at some other place according to their convenience. That is like exploiting the creative freedom which every filmmaker boasts of. But that is not the case with Middle Class Melodies. The movie has got some good locales of Guntur.
This is not the first time Anand Deverakonda scored in this aspect. His first film, Dorasaani is a period film in Telangana backdrop, and that movie irrespective of its result stayed truthful to the backdrop. That is what people call authentic filmmaking and that is also an experience for the people who have a connection to those places.
