Under the Banner of Heaven from Oscar Winner Dustin Lance Black, adapted from Jon Krakauer’s true crime bestseller is set to premiere on April 28th, 2022 exclusively on Hulu in the US, and on Disney+ platforms in all other territories. The show stars flavour of the season and Oscar Nominee Andrew Garfield and Daisy Edgar-Jones.
Much like all Hulu Originals, the first two episodes will drop on the day of premiere followed by weekly release of remaining episodes. Hulu also recently dropped the first official teaser of the show.
The limited crime drama series centres around a mormon detective investigating a brutal murder that seems to be connected to an esteemed Utah family. Andrew Garfield plays Detective Jeb Pyre, Daisy Edgar-Jones plays Brenda, a young, faithful Mormon who is the victim of the murder. As Detective Pyre investigates the case, he discovers buried truths about the origins of the LDS religion. Pyre, then reaches a complicated position where he questions his faith.
Besides Garfield and Edgar-Jones, the series also stars Sam Worthington, Denise Goigh, Wyatt Russell, Billy Howle, Gil Birmingham and Rory Culkin. We are almost two months away from the premiere and we absolutely can’t contain our excitement for the show.
