The three Khans, Hrithik Roshan and above all Amitabh Bachchan. Well, it’s really hard to bring them together in a feature film but Netflix India managed to pull them together in a documentary series last year called “The Romantics”. It was a highly successful documentary and it was nothing less than a feast for the cinema fans.
Prime Video is attempting something similar with Angry Young Men. The documentary series based on the revolutionary duo of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar is set to be released tomorrow. One who keeps basic knowledge of Bollywood doesn’t need to Google about the duo of Salim-Javed.
The two changed the track and future of Hindi cinema forever with their all time Blockbuster films like Haathi Mere Saathi, Seeta Aur Geeta, Zanzeer, Sholay, Don etc.
Even today their influence is visible, more particularly in films like KGF who just copy the typical Salim-Javed character arc and make it grand.
Normally, only Netflix India makes big and buzzy documentaries. There has been no documentary on any other platform so far that made noise. With the epic failure of SS Rajamouli documentary, there can’t be a better time to bring a big scaled documentary on Prime Video.
Let’s see how well they have done it.
