This Republic Day, the number of Indian films that are set to be streamed on OTT platforms is soaring high. But seeing 2 blockbusters streaming on the same day but different streaming platforms is more than a mere coincidence. After clashing in theatrical release, ‘Animal’ and ‘Sam Bahadur’ are set for another race in streaming on OTTs.
After a slow start in the theaters, the Vicky Kaushal-starrer ‘Sam Bahadur’ picked up momentum and gained good word of mouth from the audience and critics alike. A biographical drama film based on the life journey of India’s first Field Marshal, ‘Sam Bahadur’ steadily succeeded in the global box office, all thanks to commendable cast and a plausible narrative.
The movie also portrays Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub in leading roles. Directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP production, the movie will have its digital debut in ZEE5 in Hindi on the occasion of Republic Day.
On the other side of the scale, the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal’ is also set to release on January 26. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and distributed by AA Films and Sri Venkateswara Creations, this ‘A’ rated film is about a son who seeks revenge after an assassination attempt on his father. The cast also includes Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Zoya Riaz and others. This killer movie will be available tomorrow on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
