Anirban Vs Parambrata: Who’s Winning The OTT Battle?

Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Anirban Bhattacharya both of them are a very prominent face in the Bengali Industry.

With their stellar movies both of them proved to the audience what they are capable of, be it Parambrata’s cult classic movie “Baishe Srabon” to Anirban’s “Dracula Sir”,

Also we shouldn’t forget their collaboration in “Shah Jahan Regency” and “Dwitiyo Purush”.

But how the war is not based on their acting it’s based on how good of a director they are.

Let’s start with Parambrata Chattopadhyay’s first directorial debut in Hoichoi was with “Parnashavari Shaap”, which at that time was quite a good horror series, but with the second instalment, Parambrata gathered enough praise.

As the series “Nikos Chhaya” was smartly portrayed, the body horror which he included in the series was a step forward in the Bengali Industry to do more such horror elements.

But, Anirban Bhattacharya took the shakespearean way starting with “Maandar” which was the modern retelling Of Macbeth, then “Athhoi” where he was the creative director, it was the modern adaptation of “Othello” and now with “Talmar Romeo Juliet” he is back with the second instalment of Hoichoi World Classic’s with “Romeo Juliet”.

Hiya and Debdutt are the newcomers in the industry who will be portraying Romeo and Juliet, that’s a very bold take but Parambrata kinda stayed with his Og gang, and they are Chiranjit Chakraborty, Surangana Bandyopadhyay, Gaurav Chakrabarty, Anindita Bose and Arna Mukhopadhyay.

So here we can see that as a creative director Anirban is getting the upper hand.

But the problem is they aren’t going out of the box, set in a rural village where love, crime, and the supernatural are happening.

But, still now Hoichoi is a battlefield and the contestants are “Nikosh Chhaya” by Parambrata Chattopadhyay which is already streaming from 31st October and “Talmar Romeo Juliet” by Anirban Bhattacharya which is going to stream from 15th November.

Which beloved actor become director will win the audience’s heart can time only tell.
