The official teaser for ‘Fall‘ is out now. The Hotstar original has Tamil actor Anjali as the lead and SPB Charan, Sonia Aggarwal of ‘7/G Vrindavan Colony’ fame Santhosh Pratap, Namita Krishnamurthy, Thalaivasal Vijay, Poornima Bagyaraj play other important roles. SPB Charan, Sonia of SP Balasubramanyam, will also be producing the web series.
Director and cinematographer Siddharth Ramaswamy has directed the project. Ramaswamy is well known for handling the cinematography in beautiful films like ‘Aaravan’, ‘Vaaluzada’, ‘Two Men’ etc. He will be handling the cinematography of ‘Fall’ too.
The teaser shows Anjali up on the roof of a building, probably contemplating to jump off; sometimes shows her with an hourglass and sometimes falling freely from the building. Not very much is revealed about the plot, but it is the Indian adaptation of an award winning series ‘Vertige’ written by Michelle Allen. So it is assumed that ‘Fall’ will follow the similar story of a young woman who loses all memory of 24 hours just before her alleged suicide attempt. She discovers secrets about her friends and family which make her realize that she can not trust anybody.
The show will be co-produced by Banijay Asia. This will be a horror web series as per rumors. There are a lot of supernatural stories being told in India in the past few years and there is a saturation in the genre and not many original stories are attracting the attention of audiences. We will have to wait for the release of ‘Fall’ to see if the Telugu OTT industry does something unique with the genre.
Anjali was last seen in another Hotstar special Jhansi which is getting decent views and good reviews from audiences.
