Anna Kendrick’s Upcoming Netflix Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Stowaway’ Drops A Bone-Chilling Trailer!

A few months ago, Netflix acquired the distribution rights for Joe Penna and Ryan Morrison written sci-fi thriller, ‘Stowaway’, which will feature on their streaming platform next month. The release date for the Penna directed film, dropped just a couple of days prior to this article and many were eagerly waiting for a teaser on this movie. A few hours ago, that wish was granted and Netflix dropped a brilliant, yet hair-raising trailer on multiple social media platforms. Check out the trailer at the end of this article.

The trailer for ‘Stowaway’ starts off with a man waking up on a spaceship which has taken off for a mission to Mars. He starts hyperventilating and Zoe, the doctor on board helps him to calm down. We are then given an understanding of what happened. The man is Michael, the titular character and the launch plan engineer who gets a head injury while making some last minute fixes on the ship. This causes Michael to pass out and wake up 12 hours after launch, in space. Now, he has no choice but to stay on board for the two year Mars mission.

He starts to interact with the three man crew and starts to help them with their projects, which will be implemented on the fourth planet from the sun. Just when everything seems to be going okay, the captain of the ship, Marina finds out that the life support of the ship has been permanently damaged and cannot be fixed until they get to Mars. And they only have enough oxygen for three people to barely get to their required planet. The four of them face an unenviable situation where they have to make a tough call, on who gets to stay on the journey.

This first look of ‘Stowaway’ is epic. The cinematography and editing stands outs as well as the acting. The subtle music buildup is not forgotten either and with an all-star brilliant cast, we expect a brilliant movie to come out at the end of all this. Toni Collete, Daniel Dae Kim and Shamier Anderson join Kendrick in this space survival thriller.

Stowaway’ premieres on Netflix on April 22nd 2021.
